Another Lord of the Flies Scene

This is right from the beginning of the book, Ralph and a boy that goes by a nickname Piggy find The Conch that will later become the symbol of the leader. When it's blown it gives a horn like sound gathering the boys for a meeting.

Lord of the flies

I read William Golding's iconic book 'Lord of the Flies' during morning hours this week. It was quite scary and mix of images and scenes from the story started haunt my head.

Here's Simon (I find it very clever his name is Simon as his doomed mission is tell the truth) meeting the lord of the flies.

What will a T-Rex fossil rising from the primordial darkness order in a gas station?

Czar Nikolai with his family

Practising quick, sketchy portraits with this style. I found this photo of czar and his family very sad and haunting knowing their unfortunate fate.

Queen Victoria

An experiment for a comic; coloring and characteristics, free flow lines, block shadows.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec

Heavens! My favorite comic heroine by master Tardi, Adèle Blanc-Sec is coming to life on screen! A film adaption by Luc Besson (it just gets better) is going to see the day light in April 14, 2010 (it's not for long now!) I met Adèle in a sensitive age of thirteen, a family friend gave me a bunch of Dutch comics (!) and within was five volumes of Adèle's adventures. Though I didn't understand much of the text, I got hooked with Adèle's personality (she is cynical and has an Egyptian mummy in a glass cabinet in her living room, for a starters) and the weird tales of occult, mystical beasts and power mongering in beautiful art nouveau Paris.

Here's the quite classy site for upcoming film, love the music and well, everything about it!

Hatch the Ratter

Dailymail wrote today about the oldest sea dog skeleton found within the Mary Rose warship's seawreck remains. She sank in July 19, 1545. The almost complete canine skeleton of Hatch (named after the place she was found, near the sliding door hatch of the carpenter's cabinet) is about to go now on display among artifacts from the Mary Rose. Hatch was a rat dog and seems she was pretty good at it since there were only few rat skeletons in the ship's remains.

To amuse myself I took the foto of the Hatch's skeleton and drew a dog's form over it. So here she is now as she once might have been.

Opulent Vampire Queen

She likes to dress to impress with velvet curtains, peep toe shoes and second hand hosier.
